Another example of how our useless Bn govt wasting the rakyats money. RM300m should be better used for other important things eg hospitals equipment rather than as rebates for smartphones for those aged 21-30 earning less than RM3000 per month. Smartphone is not a necessity.

So, finally i get to register. Printed out the confirmation.

under the "Peringatan" terms.. there's no mentioning that I can only purchase phones under RM 500.
Whats the current news for this?
Today's Borneo Post i saw it writes only for phones under RM 500.
So confused.
Anyone with latest news clarify?

You can get any type of hand phone with selected dealers from SKMM. The price will be reduce RM 200 respectively on ONLY ONE hand phone. Those big tel com is one of them. https://komunikasibelia.skmm.gov.my/plain/dealer.html
Unfortunately the SKMM website has not update the dealers list i guess because it has around 1000 ++ dealers were approved or selected dealers in this program from newspaper. SenQ in Bintang Megamall is one of the selected dealers.

It's for any phone. The old term doesn't apply anymore.

http://www.theborneopost.com/2013/01/14 ... e-package/

this is today's news... very misleading no?

KUALA LUMPUR: Senheng is proud to be selected as one of the authorised agents for the ‘Youth Communication Package, RM200 Smartphone Rebates for Youths’.
‘Youth Communication Package’ is a project announced by our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as part of Budget 2013 tabled in September last year to encourage more youths especially those living in the rural areas to enjoy the nation’s broadband facilities.
It is targeted at youths as they are the main impact on influencing the economic and e-commerce growth of the country.
This programme was introduced by the government with the cooperation of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).
This special rebate applies to youths aged between 21 to 30 years old with a monthly income of RM3,000 and below.
The government has allocated RM300 million for this project which will benefit 1.5 million youths.
Customers who have successfully registered themselves and been approved at the Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission portal (http://nbi.skmm.gov.my/) may walk in to any Senheng and senQ outlets nationwide to enjoy the one-off rebate of RM200 on a 3G smartphone priced below RM500 each.
Customers who purchase the selected models which include the HTC Wildfire S, Samsung Galaxy Y and Sony Xperia Tipo can enjoy 500MB data, 100 minutes voice call and 30 SMS from U Mobile for FREE.
PlusOne members are also entitled to an extra 1-year FREE warranty and AEON Easy Payment Scheme for up to 6 months.
‘Youth Communication Package’ smartphone programme runs on a first-come-first served basis.

Only SenHeng selling below RM500 phones? Maybe they didn't get the update from SKMM? DiGi, Maxis and UMobile have already updated theirs.

So today I received the email from SKMM. It has more info like your salary, service provider, social account names(If you entered any like FB/Twitter).

Weird that it says you have to wait 2 months after expiry to re-register. Their website says 1 month

If you don't claim it before the expiry. You can renew it after 1 or 2 months (not sure which is correct)
