If you've got a taste for the exotic (by that I mean the animal world), do some research first. Piranhnas are not found in our waters and quite often, pet owner for some reason or other, release pets after a while. They are not particularly dangerous to us ( unlike what the movies sometime lead us to belive!) but is more agresive and may wipe out our natural fish stock.

sometimes you do get iguanas in the local pet shop here, not all iguana are habituated to humans tho so be careful handling them they are quite strong...anyway, do some research or even ask me! i'm just a little animal freak, i love em!

Exotic simply means that its not commonly found, its not illegal. So if its not commonly found, you gotta do some research, tarantulas has a toxic bite, if you do get bitten who can treat you? And make sure that they can treat you and your family.

On the other hand, like the croc farm, while he's a specialist in crocs, there are other animals there. if tey fall sick, who can treat them? I was talking to a vet and the vet just simply cannot support wildlife treatments. only thing can do is make it 'easy' and less painful for the animal. sad...i'd rather not see them then have them there sick...

Maybe you can contact the pet stores here in KL that might be able to arrange a way to transport the exotic pets you want over the miri?

It'll most probably be really expensive tho (on top of the price of the animal)

Can someone tell me if it is allowed to import reptiles to Malaysia? (moving)

How about Singapore? Anyone having an advice? I have heard, owning reptiles in Singapore is prohibited.

I dont want to leave my pets, so maybe someone can help me a bit.

Same here... especially those that eat nasty flies
I have flies problem at my office cos there are malay restaurant below my office and also few kopitiams behind my office.
So, as you can see, those really big, ugly, noisy, annoying and nasty flies from those eating outlets are invading my office
