Kopi O? Teh C?

Postby Vixious™ » Mon Oct 22, 2007 11:09 am

Kopi O... Teh C Peng Kaw...

I'm so much curious to know how exactly does this 'kopi O' and 'teh C' kind of name come about? the origin of it to say.... coz, the other day while I was having my breakfast at a coffeeshop, I actually heard a guy order 'kopi mati'....

Soon, I realised that he was referring to kopi C instead... coz in hokkien C = dead... to simplify my question, why is it 'O' and 'C'?? Is it O = black ( in hokkien )?? I can't figure out what is C stand for...

If it doesn't scrape, you're not low enough. And if it doesn't rub, they're not wide enough. No VIP is truly VIP until it's been bagged. When it comes to wheels, VIP is not all about the largest diameter wheels you can fit. You don't need 22s or 24s; it's all about how wide your rim is. Stretch the tires, pull, flare, or shave the fenders, do whatever you have to, to fit the widest rims you can. Now thats VIP. http://www.dzeusvip.com

C is short for "si-nai", which means fresh milk, refers to cream milk or ideal milk.

O means black in hokkien, and if you're ordering your drinks with the -o suffix, then it means no milk.

Kopi = Coffee with sweetened creamer/milk
Kopi-C = Coffee with cream milk/ideal milk
Kopi-O = Sugared coffee without milk
Kopi-O-kosong = Sugarless coffee without milk.
-kao = Thicked
-pok = Opposite to thick or it just means not thick. (Thin doesn't sound correct for drinks)
-peng = Ice.
