My dilemma: EOS 550D or D5100?

sony is good, but from some feedback i heard, scrolling through the menus prove to be a bit laggy.

Walao bro, so long already still not yet decide kah? Maybe I can share my experience here. I've owned and/or used Canon EOS 5Dmk2, EOS 60D, EOS7D, Nikon D7000, D5100, D3100, D700 & D90. And from normal usage stand point of view, I can say that D5100 is the most feasible one of the bunch. It is small and light weight - great for traveling and the sensor is the same as D7000 which is very very good for low light, no Canon at this price range come close to it. This is particularly important when photographing candle blowing in birthday party or wedding event when you don't have the big power flash. Or if you are taking pictures where flash is not allow, you can just crank up the iso to 3200 or even 6400 without worry! Other features that's not found in Canon is multiple exposure and HDR which came in handy, I have quite a lot of fun with it while I owned it. I sold it and bought the EOS 60D and now I missed those features - for canon you need a computer and it's software to do those thing. I'll post some photos I took with both Nikon and canon later if you don't mind, just to let you see any different or not or if you can tell which is which.

I'm a Nikon. After a month using D5100...what a great camera...best at low light shooting. BIG TQ everyone for da help...cheers!!

i prefer 600d is more worth the money in my opinion... while nikon d3100 and d7000 is worth the money..

I would choose Nikon, for one reason or another the technology is faster revolving in Nikon than in Canon. It has more interchaneable lens collection and any new cam may take older lenses though the functionality may be reduced, but nevertheless good to use. And one more thing the accessories in Nikon is always cheaper if compared apple to apple.

The only thing is now...where to get it? In Mir or KL? Any price different between them?? Or do I get more freebies? Any body have any experiences and where to get it?

Nikon D5100 is hard to find becoz Thailand Flood affected its production.
Last week I saw 1 guy here (mc.net) selling his D5100 with other stuffs.
Check the buy&sell section.
Shashinki price for body only is rm2098/-
Miri price was body + kit lens = rm2450/- before the flood hit Thailand. Now I think it's higher.
