I'm confused wth what we can call a tribe and a race. Lun Bawang is categorized under Orang Ulu.
So, isn't Orang Ulu is the tribe and Lun Bawang is one of the race in Orang Ulu tribe?
Is it like that?

My opinion, orang ulu is a group of local ethnic people who originated from the up river of the vast Sarawak interior (ulu sungai). Orang ulu consist of many tribes, Lun Bawang is one, others are Kelabits, Kayan, Kenyah, Tagal, Tering, Kajang, Kejaman, Punan, Ukit, and Penan. I think there are few other very minority tribes who are of the same origin could be catagorised as orang ulu as well.

Hakka, Mongaloid, Fu chow, Hokkien ect....

the only difference is the dialect

now this is something worth all of us to discuss: tribe and race.

when we say different race, it means the language is different, the culture is different (maybe slight similarities), the skin colour 'could be' different, and the diet, belief...etc.

but some facts challenge the definition. dutch, deutsch, italian are different races, but they can communicate due to similiarities in their mother languages.

korean and japan share so many things in common, even the languages share the same format / grammar / expression. but they cannot communicate to each other because of different pronounciation and writting.

chinese's hainan, canton, hakka, hokkien .... etc are the same race. same root, same skin color. but without mandarin, they cannot understand each other.

what the hell........
There are times even God would not offer help. Who will you trust the most?

Kelabit, Lun Bawang and Saban language 'almost' similar.. But still is different :P
