Anyway, what I looking at, mostly pure melanau is short.Especially from inner mukah.My melanau side from my point of VIEW mostly short,but their son taller as they married malay woman la.

i'm also part melanau.melanau baie. it is a fact that melanaus came from the Philippines.not only melanau,the majority of the races in south east asia andi think those in oceania too come form Philippines.its actually like this, based on a book i read in Pustaka(yes our pustaka not only for online and "study" groups),we originated from South China,then migrate to Taiwan,from Taiwan to Philippines,from tehre,divided into 2 groups,one go to sarawak ,semenanjung,vietnam,the second one to the rest of south east asia.i donno how far it is true,but it seems logical since all of us in SEA look almost the same.and i think this explains why there are some malays who look like chinese. and i think this theory actually shows that malays and chinese are from teh same land,so why's the racism?.

but the thing is,like i said before i'm a melanau baie which the language is very different from other melanaus and what amazes me is this. when my extended uncle/cuzen went to mecca last time,he and his wife converse in Baie language,and then there's this African guy lloking at them,and told them he understand them.it turned out that he also speak Baie,his family back home and all that.the thing is,they never go to malaysia,my uncle never go to africa,so how come they speak the same language?hmm

They migrated to Sarawak because of war in Mindanao in the 16th century. Their original settlements were on the Sarawak coast between Bintulu and Sarikei, in what is now Mukah Division.The Melanaus can be divided into six different groups which are: Melanau Mukah, Melanau Dalat, Melanau Oya, Melanau Daro, Melanau Ba'ie(Bintulu) and Melanau Miri.

Yup, but only the migrates from sarawak. if ure asking on the tribes orinality wise, melanaus are sarawakians. not sabahans. sabahans are ony kadazan, dusun, bajau, rungus, murut and etc..

owh ok my grandma is Melanau Baie so the conclusion is my family heritage probably British, Philipines, Bajau Sabahan, Dusun (Belait), Chinese Hokkein Brunei, Melanau Baie, Kedayan (Brunei) & Kenyah (Long Loyang) wahlau ... my family too many roots of chain though huhu
